I thought that was a great video to show how teenagers are so influenced to fit in with the status quo. When I think of the 1950's automatically think of the perfect sons in Leave it to Beaver. The youth population completely changed during the 60's. The Beatles phenomenon is a great example how the youth went crazy during the sixites.
I thought I would post a few statistics that I found about this time period in general. By looking at these statistics you are able to put into perspective exactly how life was in the 1960's and what the youth was up against.

This brief video slideshow gives a great overview of youth culture in the 1960s, particularly what aspects of popular culture had the greatest impact on the teenagers. Topics discussed include music and the British invasion, movies and favorite celebrities, and fashion.
The youth of the 1960s were influenced in a multitude of ways; ranging from music to fashion. The media in particular took advantage of this new generation and used it to their advantage with their own marketing schemes.
